This piece is about celebrating the joy of blooms, big, colorful bouquets bursting with vivid colors. The texture really comes alive thanks to the modeling paste I used. Creating this painting was like orchestrating a vibrant floral jam session.

The deep red Hibiscus live in my garden and I love seeing them come alive every summer. The purple leaves are even a sight to behold. The tiny butterfly reminds me of all the awesome butterflies I see every year. Remember to spot the tiny hummingbird hiding in the leaves.

The love of red and magenta are obvious but gold is right there with diamonds! Butterflies are abundant this summer and what a relief they are surviving. I do what I can to keep them happy and this piece celebrates my love for them and flowers, the quiet moments where nature's beauty feels like a personal gift.
You notice a woman's face peeking through what appears to be a hole in an old barn's siding. She sees the most beautiful sight, flowers, butterflies, nature's beauty- she found Nature. The cracked texture gives the feel that nature is breaking through time and wood. Creating this piece was like uncovering a secret garden - sometimes you just have to peek through the cracks to find the wild beauty waiting on the other side.

I truly enjoyed painting from a beautiful rose bouquet in Sarasota, FL. This workshop was led by Dimitra Milan! I experienced different flowers than in my garden. If you look closely, a tiny butterfly rests just above the flowers, along with my trademark of the tiny hummingbird, adding delicate hints of whimsy.

I played around with texture using modeling paste to give the petals a thick, almost sculptural feel, and adding sand to the vase for an unexpected twist. The tiny yellow duckling carries a bit of puffy powder for extra fluff. This piece is full of my love of texture and feels like pure joy and color. Remember to look for my trademark!
I had a lot of fun layering the rich colors on the butterfly's wings and adding a touch of gold foil to the leaves. The shimmering details always feel like a tiny surprise, and speaking of surprise be sure to look for my trademark, the tiny hummingbird!

I played with three-dimensional elements in both the flowers and the butterfly to give a scene of a little bounce -- like it might flutter right off the canvas. Sometimes the smallest moments hold the most life and color in our lives. Look for the trademark!
This unique plant attracted me as it appears to swirl through the textured petals like a floral dance happening beneath waves of turquoise and teal. The colors are the star of the show and I captured the vibrant spirit of a cabbage plant in its' full glory but with a fresh, abstract twist. A beautiful garden scene that invites you to look closer and get lost in the layers. I plan to plant some myself!!
